Now, I know this may sound weird, but in a town near me there is an annual Rattlesnake Rodeo. It's absolutely insane, but definitely one of those local things that you have to try. We just got back from seeing it for the third year in a row. The have rattlesnakes, and some truly red-neck stuff-- i.e: grease pole(they grease up a pull and people get enjoyment from trying to climb up). The craziest thing about the South is all the fried food. They had fried chicken, fried rattlesnake, fried eggplant, fried green tomatoes, and even fried oreo cookies.
They even have concerts there. Country singers come and play. Tonight we will be going back to see Jeff Bates...
