Filmmaker Stanley Kubrick was born today in 1928. Sad that the genius of Kubrick is no longer with us, but it's great that we can still reflect on his multiple masterpieces. Here are my favorite Kubrick movies. I'd love to know yours...
"I am not a king. I am something better. A free man."
--Spartacus--
Bernard Wilhelm runway:
"What drives me insane is the twofold nature of this nymphet...this mixture in my Lolita of tender, dreamy childishness and a kind of eerie vulgarity."
--Lolita--
Franz Herholdt photography:
"Open the pod bay doors Hal"
--A Space Odyssey--
Balenciaga:
"It's funny how the colors of the real world only seem really real when you viddy them on the screen."
--A Clockwork Orange--

My Hubby will watch Spartacus over and over again....
Lovely finds!
Love this post ~ total genius with the movie and runway juxtapositions! Especially loving the space-age Balenciaga!

I love the Lolita quote - I am contemplating reading the book right now. What a marvelous mix of movie and runway inspiration. Fabulous post! :)
At first I was confused with this post but after finding out that the paired pictures shared similarities with each other it made me wonder how his films would change with the designs of today XDD
A Clockwork Orange has got to be the creepiest movie of all time. I tried to watch it in high school and had to turn it off halfway through! However, the fashion was inspired...

Love the Lolita quote. Interesting post, something to think about...

One of my favourite film makers of all time! Just about every one of his films were iconic, such a genius. Hope you had a beautiful weekend dear.
